Aj šperky vyžadujú starostlivosť

Rovnako ako naše oblečenie, šperky nás reprezentujú. Ak chceme, aby nám čo najdlhšie vydržali také krásne, ako keď sme si ich prvýkrát doniesli domov, mali by sme vedieť, ako sa správne o ne starať a ako s nimi manipulovať. Nezáleží na tom, či je to obyčajná bižutéria alebo šperky z drahého kovu a kameňa. Vo svojej podstate vyžadujú to isté. Zhrnula by som to do pár bodov:
1. Nikdy so šperkami nespite (nebezpečentvo poranenia alebo zdeformovania šperku), nedovoľte, aby sa vaše šperky dostali do kontaktu s vodou- samozrejme okrem prípadov čistenia (obzvlášť dôležité pri bižutérii), s horúčavou- napríklad sauna (týka sa najmä kovových šperkov). Toto sú len najčastejšie príklady, viac v ďalšom bode. :)
2. So šperkami zaobchádzajte ako v bavlnke, nevystavuje ich akémukoľvek chemickému (okrem prípadov čistenia šperkov z drahých kovov), mechanickému a fyzikálnemu (opäť čistenie šperkov z drahých kovov napr. pomocou ultrazvuku) a najlepšie ani biologickému pôsobobeniu. Možno to znie smiešne, ale čím menej sa dostáva šperk do kontaktu napríklad s vašou kožou, tým má väčšiu životnosť a tým dlhšie vydrží krásny.
3. Šperky raz za čas očistite. Čistením šperk zbavujete nánosu špiny, ktorý ho nielenže robí nevýrazným a zanedbaným, ale hlavne nehygienickým, pretože zachytáva patogény, ľudské epitélie...
   a) Bižutériu čistite jemnou hubkou a čistou vodou, po vyčistení dôkladne osušte. Pozor na bižutériu nestálej farby a materiálu, v tom prípade čistenie vôbec neodporúčam (i keď, pri kvalitnej bižutérii by sa to nemalo stať).
   b) Na čistenie šperkov z drahých kovov a kameňov je obrovské množstvo možností. Osobne preferujem čistenie ultrazvukom a to hlavne pri strieborných šperkoch. Zlaté šperky sa podľa mojich skúseností najlepšie vyčistia prevarením v čistej vode- postup, ktorý používali hádam už naše babičky. Opäť nezabudnite dôkladne vysušiť, pokiaľ ste použili na čistenie vodu. Ak potrebujete očistiť strieborné šperky doma, odporúčam vatový tampón s malým množstvom akéjkoľvek zubnej pasty. Tento spôsob je dobrý najmä na čistenie retiazok, kedy retiazku pretiahnete tampónom zloženým na polovicu a následne opláchnete čistou vodou a osušíte. Neodporúčam na čistenie veľmi členitých retiazok, kedy sa vlákna vaty zachytávajú v retiazke. Ak si nie ste isté, radšej sa ohľadom čistenia poraďte s odborníkom, na šperky z drahých kovov nie som expert, snažím sa vám priblížiť mnou overené spôsoby čistenia. :)
4. Vždy si šperky dávajte na seba ako posledné, keď už ste obečená, namaľovaná, máte upravené vlasy. Je to veľmi dôležité, aby sa predišlo zachytávaniu šperku o oblečenie/ vlasy a znečisteniu/ zničeniu šperku v dôsledku použitia make- up- u/ laku na vlasy...

Jewellery is as representative element as our dress. If we want them to stay so beautiful as we bring them home for the first time, we should know how to take care of them and also how to manipulate with them. No matter if it is bijoux or precious metal/ gemstone jewellery. Their needs are essentialy the same. I summarize my own rules in the next articles:
1. Never sleep with your jewellery (the risk of injury or jewellery deformation), don' t allow your jewells to get in contact with the water- of course excepting the cases of cleaning (especially important when it is bijoux), don' t allow your jewells to get in contact with the heat- e.g. sauna (especially when talking about the metal jewells). These are the most frequent examples, further information is in the next article. :)
2. Handle with the jewellery gently, don' t expose them any chemical (excepting the case of cleaning precious- metal jewellry), mechanical of physical (again the cleaning precious- metal jewelry e.g. by supersound) and preferably even biological activity. It may sound laughably but the less you contact the jewel e.g. with you skin, the more persistance the jewel has and the more time it stay beautiful.
3. Clean the jewellry once upon a time. By cleaning, the jewell is got rid of the dirt that makes it not only unimpressive and uncared- for but primarily unhygienic because of catching patogens, human epithelial leavings...
   A: Bijoux should be cleaned by gentle sponge and pure water, after cleaning deeply dried. I don' t recommend cleaning when the jewell has a changeable colour of material (it shouldn' t happen when you buy quality jewellry).
   B: There are many opportunities of cleaning when talking about precious- metal and gemstone jewellry. I prefer cleaning by ultrasound especially when it is argent jewell. It is best to clean gold jewellry by boiling to the point of 100° C in the pure weater- I guess it is method used by our grandmothers long time ago. Don' t forget to dry it carefully when using the water for cleaning. When you need to clean the argent jewellry at home use a cotton ball with a litlle bit of toothpaste. This method is useful especially when cleaning necklets. The halves of cotton ball should be overlaped and the bracelet dragged between them. The next step is to rinse the jewell by the water and dry it. I don' t recommend to use this cleaning method when the necklet is heavily structured. The cotton fibres are captured into the structure of necklet. If you are not sure, consult the cleaning with an expert, I am not so much interested in precious- metal jewellry. I only want to present my way of cleaning. :)
4. Put on the jewellry as a last thing, after your are dressed, have make- up and your hair style is finished. It is important because of preventing from catching the jewells into the dress/ hair, the polution/ damage of you jewellry as a result of using make- up/ hairspray...
